North Bogotâ walk
Aug 6, 2010

Kirill and I walked from Hotel Real De La T in Zona T - a very posh, safe and happening place with lots of young people, bars, restaurants, dancing - to Natalia's Dad's home on Carerra 7. Leaving there we visited La Candelaria, Museo del Oro (the Gold Museum), had lunch in a restaurant where Rashel had a dance with our driver Carlos, and then we drove back to Carrera 7.

La Candelaria & Museum Botero
Aug 8, 2010

Guided tour of La Candelaria (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Candelaria) the Old Town part of Bogota with a wonderful guide, Carolina (carolinaguidecolombia@hotmail.com). We discovered rich history and beautiful architecture of the historic city center, saw churches and squares, canals and old houses, universities and theaters. We visited a very nice museum, Museo Botero, where Fernando Botero's works are exhibited along with the famous artists: Picasso, Ernst, Leger, Chagall and others.

Monserrate
Aug 9, 2010

Climb to the top of Monserrate, the mountain hugging Bogotâ from the east side, to witness spectacular views of the city, spreading itself for miles to the north and the south along the mountain ridge and far into the west.

A top of the mountain is a church "Compasión de Christo", built in the 17th century and a typical local souvenir market.
