MXR DD-11 DIME DISTORTION. 2nd condition
Review : When Dimebag Darrell of Pantera first exploded on the scene, he ushered in a new era of tone and attitude. When it comes to guitar, Dime doesn't need a "warm" or "pretty" sound. He can't be bothered with "vintage" this or "boutique" that. He wants a heavy, aggressive, razor-sharp tone that can slice through a loud band and a louder crowd. It's a tone that rages with distortion but remains tight and focused enough to keep up with lightening-fast rhythm lines and face-melting solos.
Finally there's a pedal that can deliver all that, the The Dime Distortion from MXR. With its 3-band EQ, proprietary Scoop switch, and ungodly output, this stomp box from Hell has the guts and the muscle to stand up to your heaviest displays of power. Crank the gain, boost the lows and highs, and hit the Scoop switch for a rhythm tone that will annihilate. Dial the mids back in and mow down the competition with a lead sound that can penetrate steel. If it still hasn't gotten heavy enough for you, stick the Dime in front of a distorted amp and experience sustain and sonic mayhem that’s so over the top it should come with a warning label. The Dime Distortion, not subtle, not pretty.
HARMONY CENTRAL USER REVIEWS: Overall Rating: 9 What style of music do you play? Is this a good match?
How long have you been playing? What other gear do you own?
If it were stolen or lost, would you buy it again or get something else?
what do you love about it? What do you hate? What is your favorite feature?
Did you compare it to other products? Which ones? Why did you choose this one?
Anything you wish it had?
Does it help you make music, or does it get in the way?
Anything else you'd like to share?
I mostly play shred, so this one is an arguable choice. Notwithstanding, I do experiment a LOT with tones and colors, so this pedal always come handy. No loves or hates in particular, I will just state that this pedal is an interesting addition to anybody in the market for intense distortion. You might want to have some other pedals, but this sounds with a strong character and you'll find room for it in years to come.
Sound Quality: 10 Can you get the sound of your favorite artists? Who are they?
Are certain effects (distortion, chorus, ...) very good? Very bad?
What setup (i.e. what guitars and amps) are you using this with?
Is it noisy? On what settings?
Are the effects weak or do they always sound great?
What amp are you using it with?
This pedal has the most raw sound I've ever heard out of a distortion pedal. It absolutely kicks the shit out of anything I've ever heard. If you're into hardcore death metal don't bother with this pedal. If you want rock, blues, heavy metal, punk and probably even jazz then this is for you. With the scoop button in it sounds exactly like Dime. You can get a better Zakk Wylde kinda sound out of this pedal than using the ZZ-44. I absoluetly love this pedal. It's kinda like the Boss Metal Zone but doesn't have the digital, super fake sound.

Anything else you'd like to share? I play rock, blues and alot of heavy metal (Godsmack, Metallica and Anthrax, ACDC) I've been playing for 14 years and this pedal has done me prowd. If this pedal was taken away from me I'd buy another. Even if it would costs me double the amount. - Album was created 7 months ago and modified 7 months ago

A. Zoom 9150 Valve DSP Guitar Multi-Effects Processor - Aug 29, 2008
-
Zoom 9150 single-rack space, lightweight and versatile guitar preamp/multi-effects processor in very good condition. It has minor surface flaws but functions perfectly. This unit uses a 12AX7 preamp tube to color its tones. I believe these amps were made in the late 80's - early 90's. I am not the original owner. The unit is easy-to-use and capable of a wide variety of tones, from shimmering clean to heavy 80's - 90's distortion and sustain. The original AC adapter is included.
The unit holds 99 user patches ( and probably the same number of presets, but I don't know how to access those ). The interface is logically laid-out and the basics are very easy to master. Next to the LCD display are buttons/LED's for five fundamental effects parameters: Pre-Amp ( including distortion and compression ), EQ, Modulation effects such as Chorus and Flange, Delay, Reverb, and a Total parameter.
I've always liked Zoom's heavily-compressed distortion sounds, and have amassed quite a few of their devices over the years. However, I'm downsizing my collection since I currently mostly use just a small combo amp with reverb.

z. sold Boss DS1 Distortion Japan - Jul 8, 2011
-
This is truly a classic distortion pedal. It produces a distortion sound with a hard edge and is known to have a very low noise level compared to other distortion pedals. Many people swear that the older MAD IN JAPAN models sounds better than the newer MADE IN TAIWAN models. The DS-1 has over the years been used by a lot of the great guitar players. Steve Vai and Joe Satriani are among two players who have voiced their praise over this pedal. The DS-1 is also a favorite among modifiers. Robert Keeley Electronics and Analogmann all provide their own versions of this icon among distortion makers. - Album was created 8 months ago and modified 7 months ago

z. sold DOD FX58- Metal Maniac - Oct 12, 2011
-
Both cosmetic variants of the FX58 Metal Maniac, from 1991 (left) and 1992-93
DOD introduced the FX58 Metal Maniac with three other distortion pedals (FX52, FX53, FX59) in early 1990, although serial number data imply the first few pedals were built at the end of 1989. With the same circuitboard as the soon-to-be discontinued FX56 American Metal, the FX58 Metal Maniac used slightly different component values and appears to have been voiced for a "classic" heavy metal distortion sound. While we doubt members of Iron Maiden ever used this pedal, the FX58 might be worth checking out if you like NWOBHM-era metal distortion tones. With its bright yellow paint job, the FX58 probably stood out at music stores, but its visibility did not seem to translate to increased sales. Based on serial number data, production of the FX58 was probably discontinued in 1993, although we have seen one FX58 whose serial number implied a build date of January 1994.

z. sold Ibanez Tube king Distortion - Oct 18, 2011
-
A regal name in distortion pedals, the Tube King returns to the Ibanez lineup. While the name and purpose of the Ibanez distortion pedal is the same as the original '90s models, this version of Tube King, the TK999HT, differs from its two predecessors in that it features internal high voltage DC circuitry instead of previous "starved plate" low voltage circuitry. Ibanez says that makes a significant difference.
With the TK999HT the 12AX7 gets normal DC high voltage, allowing total linear operation of the tube. It works just like a tube preamp because it effectively is
one! The result is that the TK999HT distortion pedal makes any solid-state amp sound like a tube amp. The distortion is massive yet tight. - Album was created 4 months ago and modified 3 months ago

z. sold KORG PX3 PANDORA - NEW - Aug 22, 2008
-
sold to mojokerto The original ToneWorks Pandora pocket-sized multi-effects processor, and its successor the PX2, created a personal signal processor with which guitarists of all levels could create professional quality sounds and compositions. ToneWorks now announces the introduction of the Pandora PX3, the newest generation of personal effects processors.
The ToneWorks Pandora PX3 has all of the same great features as its predecessors, plus new innovations that give guitarists even more options and expressive power. Quality effects such as compression, overdrive, distortion, reverb, wah and Intelligent Pitch-Shifting, are now complemented by 50 factory preset programs and 50 user-configurable presets. New functions include a phrase-trainer, which allows the user to digitally sample (up to 16 seconds at a time) and time-shift (up to 25% +/-) riffs from any recorded source, making it easy to learn difficult solos or phrases. In addition, the PX3's rhythm tracks contain bass lines which make jamming more realistic, fun and productive. Users can select any key for the bass part, as well as use the Intelligent Pitch-Shift function to create in-key harmony lines.
The Pandora PX3 features 56 types of high-quality effects, including a digital delay with up to 2 seconds of delay time, and a cabinet resonator feature to mimic the six most popular speaker cabinet configurations. The PX3 has 40 styles of built-in rhythm patterns (based on samples from classic analog and digital drum machines) for all major genres of music.
