THE JOKER

Made in vinyl by Horizon in 1/6 scale. Superbly sculpted by Taishiro Kiya. This model is actually my first attempt on figurepainting since I fooled around with Auroras monsters in the seventies. Some mods have been done where the vest meets the trousers and also his right hand has been modified to hold a scratchbuildt spraycan. Some buttons has been replaced and his "smile"button is homemade. I sprayed the suit in Tamiya purple with matte medium, and when dry, I took a paler version of the same colour with a lot of matte medium in and misted the suit from above with several layers. The result, allthough not clearly visible in the pictures, made an interesting velvet-look. Down side is that I cannot touch it with my fingers in fear of leaving prints. It has survived since around 1995, resting in a glasshowcase. But when I used to exhibit it at shows, I watched over it as a hawk to keep curious fingers off!!
The kit is excellent in quality and is a great tribute to Brian Bollands art for the Batmanstory "The Killing Joke"
