Arrived at apartment around 5pm, got settled in, did some grocery shopping then had dinner in the Alfama.

Breakfast at Brasileira Café, rambling stroll around the Baixa, Chiado and back to the Alfama for lunch. Went to the cinema in the evening.

Stand-up brekky at fabulous cafe/bakery across from apartment, elevenses at the famous Pasteis de Belem. Visited Belem tower and Monesterio Sao Jeronimo, walked along riverfront.

Long walk to the upper Alfama for lunch and visit to the castle. Long walk home and then returned to the castle in the evening for a wonderful outdoor Fado concert.

Day trip to Sintra.
Way too touristy, but the lunch was good.

Brekky on terrace of Cafe Brasileira. Light rain in the morning as we walked around Baixa and Chiado. Took small tram up to the Graca lookout in the Alfama. Weather cleared. Walked back to centre, had lunch and then it was time to go home.

Wonderful mosaic type pavements - though rather treacherous to walk on.
