In preparation for us becoming Open Water Scuba Instructors, our Course Director decided to give us a little extra and took us on an actual Adventure Dive Teaching. We got to brief skills and do some other activities that will not only help us prepare for the IDC but for actually teaching.

For this we dove the trench in Haleiwa. It is not known for its great vis, as you can probably tell but it is definitely a dive to do if you want to see turtles, want to go deep, or have patience to really check things out.

Day 2 of the Camp Smith Open Water Class.

I assisted Eddie and Aaron with the Camp Smith Open Water Class put on by Dive Oahu. This was a fun class and we saw a huge freakin stingray, how cool is that?

Hope Chapel's sport's ministry is expanding their ability to reach people - underwater. A bunch of Hope Chapelers went diving with Dive Oahu. IT took a while to get started but the wait was well worth it as the divers were treated to an open water encounter with a 10-12 foot tiger shark (that is the one that is notorious for attacking people in Hawaii). The rest of the dive was filled with eels, frog fish, and other things some of us didn't get to take pictures of.

while on a surface interval while waiting to do a second dive, our boat was charged by a humongous pod of dolphins. Some folks jumped on in with other people's cameras and got these amazing shots. You can see the shots and some of my magical photo editing.

Went diving on New Years Day. Instead of watching UH get stomped on by UGA I got to see some really cool stuff underwater in the beautiful ocean that surrounds my home, Oahu.

I took Mary, Jason, and Scott on the diveoahu.com boat and we headed out to the YO-257 and the san pedro. the dive was a little bit sketchy cause of the strong mid water current and while the dive was cool most of the gang got a little sea sick. regardless it was a fun day of diving and good practice with my new olympus c-5060 camera.

this was mary and jason's last dives to get certified. they were doing such a good job that i was able to shoot a bunch of photos.

Another day of diving with dive oahu. we had three charters, although i was only able to take the camera on two of the four dives. the first dive i was with eddy, a senior instructor and the dive master for that tour, and he wouldn't let me take the cam down to the sea tiger which pissed me off cause we saw a spotted eagle ray. the second dive i was with chris and so i was able to take the camera. we were at turtle canyon again. the third dive was an intro dive and i was with eddy again so no camera. the last dive was a night dive and i did not get too many good shots actually i didn't get any really, oh well anyways thats the day in a nut shell

today was my first day working as a dive master with the diveoahu.com guys. it was fun, i got to get the mooring line well take a line down to moor the boat and got to see the planes at the yo. i didn't get too many pictures there because i was having some equalization and bleeding sinus issues but all in all it was a good day of diving and a lot of fun, i really enjoyed working on the boat.

this was checkout dives one and two for the kapolei folks, well mary and jason. scott and i traded off taking pictures, the good ones i took and the sucky ones he took.

john moss and sea biscuit had some friends from missouri doing intro dives. they didn't like it much but we did as we got to see like twelve turtles at the station. it was a good dive and a fun time.

i borrowed scott's camera so i could dive sharks cove with matt and jill. it was a fun dive, we did two dives, both over sixty minutes long. it was amazing, lots of neat stuff and some ok pictures.

on july third we went to three tables and did three dives. we dove in the afternoon and at night, although these pictures are only from our first dives and you can see my editing.

I helped out with a rescue class today and when that was done we had some fun diving and exploring E beach. The vis was amazing and the water temps were almost perfect. We saw sharks, octopi, turtles, and a baby black leaf scorpion fish.
