Really plump, healthy twists. Have you been using shea butter on your scalp since long? I only use it on my hair but has been afraid to use it on my (sensitive) scalp. I am wondering if your scalp likes it.
----------------------
I have been using shea butter on my scalp for a number of years now and my scalp likes it alot. My scalp Never itches anymore and it always did when i was a permy. Unless of course i have extensions in and its time for a wash. I only need to put the shea on my scalp once a week and its ok. the other days my spritz goes right into my scalp and that is enough for moisture. I dont like to put alot on my scalp, i think thats the best thing about shea, a little lasts a long time.

Thank you sooo much for this info. You have no idea how much I needed to read this. I did the BC in Sept. and have been trying to maintain it myself between different braid styles and was really in need of some guidance. Thank you.

Yess..thank you for this!!!..I now understand! But, i used to think i LOSING hair when i do that...Being that when i unbraid it..and comb out my hair..soooo much hair comes out!?
------------------------
Nah. See when u have ur hair in those plaits so long it only seems like u loosing a whole lot because basically when u comb it out u are seeing all of the hair u shed for that period of time, whereas if u had combed out your shed hair everyday saved it and then, after the same period of time, combine it into a ball it might be about that same amount. hope that clarifies it =)
I tried No/Poo with my twists in and my hair and scalp felt great, but..... because I have some straight hair in between when it dried the straight hair just sprung right out and I ended up with a nest on my head. Guess I had to learn for myself. :))

LOL @ birdnest. Oh gosh. You are right you live and learn! alot of what i learnt was jus by trial and error.

Can you tell me how to do a hot oil treatment with twist in my hair I always thought that you had to take our the twist and then do a hot oil treatment.
----------------------------
I have never done a hot oil treatment with twists in my hair, but I think it would be possible, since some people no poo and so on with twists in. I would just put in the oils and proceed as usual.
