    Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut Shampoo

I do the same...with safflower oil...it turns very creamy + moisturizing.

Dr. Woods Pure Peppermint Castile Soap

Do you have to buy this at the Health Food store?
    I'm interested in trying this.

    -----------------------

I didn't buy this at a health food store, I actually got it at a little corner store / mini grocery kind of place in Brooklyn. my cousins call it the chinee store.

VO5 Kiwi and Lime Clarifying Conditioner

I love the smell of the VO5 items...Strangely enough, my hair doesn't really like the vo5 line.
I think my hair is happier when I use items that do contain silicones.

    Cleansers

I agree, I think that the frequency of washing differs from head to head.

I've reduced my shampoo frequency and also I tend to use moisturizing shampoos.

    Low – Poo

Hey I'm going to have to try this Beenie! I like the idea of using more "homemade" products.

    -----------------------

Girl I am tryin to reach the stage where I only use homemade stuff. I am getting there. This mix felt real good on my hair girl, try it out!

Dr. Woods Pure Peppermint Castile Soap

I have this same brand in peppermint too...what was your water to soap ratio?

    ------------------------

I didn't dilute this when i used it but i did put a little olive oil in it. I will be diluting it next time though, because it did lather up much more than i needed.

    Baking Soda

I put the BS water into a pump sprayer and saturate my hair with it and then rinse out.

    ---------------------

You know I tried this and maybe i didn't dilute the baking soda in the water enough cause it started clogging up the spray bottle LOL
I'll try it again sometime =)

    Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner

I have the Coconut, the Toasted Vanilla & Sugar as well as the Milk & Honey. The TV&S is very sweet smelling. The M&H is similar but less sweet. (I prefer the latter.)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION for Effective Conditioner Washes

I use the Suave condishes as co-rinses during the warmer months. (I'm in the currently frigit northeastern US.) The Nature's Gate Jojoba Condish is one of my co-washes. I also love Trader Joe's Nourish Condish as a co-wash.

    Cleansers

You wrote: "Conditioner alone will not remove the residue from heavy products and gels."

Well, that depends on what sort of products you use. I refrain from using cones, mineral oil, beeswax, petrolatum and such. There are alos other clarifiers (Baking Soda or LemonAid) that you can use to remove minor build-up. Having said that... a low-poo routine is quite alright. :D
