- Software turbulence on Fotki has made it impractical for me to display many of my pretty and interesting photos here. The shutoff of Netscape v4.79 access, flip/flops about displaying mandatory copyright notices, the Ajax fiasco, the theft of more than 7,000 of my photos for republication on a separate adwierdteasing site devoid of copyright notices and relevant captions, and an abuse of "tagging" my photos with objectionable phrasing so as to facilitate theft of the photos have all compounded the difficulties. Those problems to the side, there may be seasonal albums that I want to display from time to time

- Places so noxious as to be rated AVOID in my travel planning. No political solution seems feasible for the criminal attacks on persons inherent in such places and I'm too old already to waste what life I have remaining braving such cesspools. With my policy emphasis on things which are pretty or interesting or both, it seemed appropriate to separate these out into their own folder.
