The Eagles struck early, with Brandon Mills scoring less than one minute into the game and then again at 10:38. Defenseman Zach Stuart added his first goal of the season at 11:46 to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead. Momentum began to shift when defenseman Miles Muncie netted the Trojans' first goal with five minutes remaining in the first period. Zach Pfaffenberger sliced further into the Eagles' lead with another score just a minute later. Liberty got a scare when defensive anchor Miranda Rigg went down with a painful twisted knee late in the first. She would not return until the second period, but seemed to be OK. Eagle forward Taylor Mustian (2 goals, 3 assists) combined with Mills (3g, 2a) on a bang-bang play at Midlo's doorstep that put Liberty back up by 4-2 at the end of one. The Trojans came out firing in the second. Muncie (1g, 2a) carried the puck in and out of Liberty's defense and set up play after play in the Eagles' zone. Despite some great saves by Trevor Dyke, Midlo capitalized on the opportunities and tied the score with 8:46 remaining in the game. Liberty tightened the bench and shut down the Trojan offense from that point on. Mills and Mustian combined for two more to round out the final score at 6-4. These are unedited. low-res pics.
