This was the final regular season home gmae for the Dogs and the 4 games in 5 nights showed. Doug Groenstege got the start in net and gave up 5 goals before being replaced by Mike D'Alessandro in the third period. The Dogs were down 6-1 before the spark got into them and they scored 3 goals in 3 minutes but it was too little too late. Coach Kris Waltze got ejected in the second period after questioning a call by Referee Rich Leonard. John DiPace had 2 goals and an assist and Mike Oliveira had 2 goals in the loss. The game also marked the final game for Stick Boy Cory as he heads off for college...we will miss you Cory.

The Dogs came out strong and led for the first two periods but were unable to hold off the Frostbite. The Bite scored three consecutive goals in the third period to get the 3-1 win. Mike D'Alessandro was in net and stopped 20 of 22 shots (last goal was an empty netter). Bobby Kukulka got the lone goal for the Dogs.

The RiverDogs shut out the River Otters 5-0 as Mike D'Alessandro played another great game in net to get the shutout. D'Alessandro made 37 saves and was named first star of the game. Goals were scored by Todd Grant, Mike Oliveira(2), Bobby Kukulka, and John DiPace. Dan Vandermeer had two assists to break the RiverDogs assist record.

The Riverdogs finally broke the curse as game thirteen proved lucky as they beat the visiting Frostbite 5-2 in front of a small Tuesday night crowd. Mike D'Alessandro had a great night in net. Dogs' goals were scored by Mike Oliveira, Todd Grant, Joey Bastien, Bill Vandermeer and John DiPace.

The Roanoke Valley Vipers once again visited the Richmond Coliseum to take on the Richond RIverDogs. The RiverDogs won the game 4-3 but the Vipers fought back from 2 goals down to tie it at 3-3 in the third before the Dogs Joey Bastien got the game winner. Mike D'Alessandro was in goal for the Dogs and saved 24 of 27 shots.

The Frostbite blanked the RiverDogs 4-0 in front of a big crowd once again. Molly McMaster was in uniform for the Dogs and skated the first shift for Cancer Awareness. Mike D'Alessandro was in goal for the Dogs and gets the loss.

The Richmond RiverDogs hosted the Roanoke Valley Vipers for the second time in three nights. Roanoke held a 2-1 lead through 2 periods, but the Dogs raliied back to tie the game and Todd Grant scored the game winner with less than a minute to play. John DiPace added an empty netter as the Dogs got the 4-2 win.

The Richmond RiverDogs beat the visiting Roanoke Valley Vipers 5-2 in front of a small mid-week crowd. Richmond had 3 power play goals and Mike D'Alessandro stopped 25 of 27 shots to get the win. The only fight of the night featured Matt 'the Mohawk' Goody against Roanoke's Simon Rizk with Goody get the win.

The Richmond RiverDogs beat the Roanoke Valley Vipers 4-1 in front of a large boyscout crowd (7218) tonight at the Freezer. A new face was in the lineup...Rod Taylor...and had two goals for the Dogs. Mike D'Alessandro got the win with 36 saves.

The Dogs went into the third period tied 3-3 with the Trashers, but the short bench did them in. The Dogs lost 6-3 in front of 3,816 at the Coliseum. Dogs goals were scored by Mike Oliveira, Billy Vandermeer, and John DiPace. Mike D'Alessandro was in goal.

The Richmond RiverDogs got the first win 3-2 for new coach Kris Waltze tonight against the Roanoke Valley Vipers. Roanoke scored two in the first and the Dogs went into the first intermission down 2-0, but came out fired up for the start of the second period. Joey Bastien scored a power play goal 3:08 into the second period. While Mike Levay was announcing that goal, Mike Oliveira scored on a feed from Bastien and Mike D'Alessandro. About 4 minutes later, John DiPace scored to give the Dogs the lead for good. D'Alessandro was solid in net and the guys played well in front of him.

The fans got together after the game for a farewell party in the coliseum bar for Coach Nichols. Fans came and said their goodbyes. Players and the game officials were also on hand. There was a farewell cake and lots of pictures and hugs.

The Richmond RiverDogs beat the Danbury Trashers 3-2 ins shootout for Coach Robbie Nichols last game as Dogs' coach. Doug Groenstege was in net and played a great game and also shut out the Trashers in the shootout. Joey Bastien and Billy Vandermeer scored for the Dogs. OT goals were scored by Mike Oliveira and Billy V. There were two Matty Goody fights, Cody Doucette fight and a Doug Groenstege skirmish.

The RiverDogs beat the visiting Vipers 4-2 in front of 2,314 at teh coliseum. Mike D'Alessandro had the shutout going until 6 minutes in to the third period. Roanoke scored twice to get within one, but an empty net goal by John DiPace sealed the win for the DOgs. Other goal scorers were Warren Cooper, Bobby Kukulka, and Mike Olivera. Dan Vandermmer and Joey Bastien both has two assists.

The Motor City Mechanics returned to the coliseum and beat the Dogs 4-3 in an overtime shootout. Warren Cooper, John DiPace, and Mike Oliveira scored for the Dogs in regulation. None of the Dogs were able to solve Mechanics goalie Rod Branch in the shootout. Doug Groenstege was in net for the Dogs.

The Motor City Mechanics ended the Dogs winning streak 4-3. Brian Goudie, Evegny Lazarev, and Mike Oliveira scored for the Dogs. Mike D'Alessandro was in net and got his first loss in seven games.

The Dogs beat the Otters 4-1 in a Sunday afternoon game. Mike D'Alessandro continued his great play and only allowed one goal on 26 shots. Goals were scored by Evengy Lazarev, Joey Bastien, Mike Oliveira, and Brian Goudie.

Friday the 13th turned out positive for the Dogs. Richmond comes from behind twice to win a very spirited game 4-2. The guys played an awesome game and it looks like things are clicking well. Cody Doucette got his first professional goal and was one of the three stars of the game. Mike D'Alessandro was named number one star.

The RiverDogs stuck it to the Flags winning 5-1. The Dogs scored 3 in the first, two in the second and were 22 seconds away from a shutout. A great game by the Dogs! I didn't take too many pics tonight and don't have any of the big melee in the first period.

The Muskegon Fury beat the Richmond RiverDogs 4-1. Richmond's Mike Oliveira scored first for the RiverDogs, but the Fury then added four unanswered goals. Doug Groenstege was in net again tonight as Mike D'Alessandro is still on callup in Norfolk. Only one fight tonight between Goody and Angel again.

The Fury whooped up on the Dogs 6-2. Doug Groenstege got the loss in net. Mike Oliveira and John DiPace each had a goal and an assist for the Dogs. Lots of pics of the two newest Dogs: Evgeny Lazarev and Cody Doucette. Pics of the two Goody fights and the Doucette tussle also.

Elmira defeats the Dogs 3-2 after the Dogs led the entire game. Two goals in the third period give the Jackals the come from behind win. Mike D'Alessandro was in net and played great up until the midway point of the third. Richmond goals were scored by Rafal Martynowski and RC Lyke.

The Trashers beat the RiverDogs 6-2. Starting goalie Doug Groenstege got chased after allowing 4 goals midway through the first period. Mike D'Alessandro came in and kept the game from getting too out of hand.

The Flint Generals lose to the Dogs 4-3 in a great OT shootout. The Dogs came from behind and got the win. Doug Groenstege was in net for the Dogs.

The RiverDogs beat the Jackals 5-3 and Coach got his 300th win. Pattie was back in the photo box (yay!) to take game pics. I took a few from my seat and at center ice seats during the second period. D'Alessandro got the win, DiPace had two goals, and Oliveira had a three point night.

The Elmira Jackals beat the Dogs 3-2 in front of 2,383 at the coliseum. Doug Groenstege got the loss for the Dogs as Wrobel and DiPace had the goals for Richmond. Pattie is back and dropped the first puck!

The Fort Wayne Komets beat the Dogs 3-1 in front of 3,452. It was Teddy Bear toss night and the fans dumped many bears to the ice when Mike Oliveira scored the lone goal for the Dogs. Mike D'Alessandro was in net and got the loss for the Dogs.

The RiverDogs beat the Elmira Jackals 7-4 in front of 3,142 as Dan Vandermeer had four assists, John DIpace had two goals and an assit, and Dennis Mullen had two goals. Doug Groenstege had a 40 save night in his third consecutive start.

A good group of the RiverDogs were on hand at the Burcham's Cycles Annual Christmas Open House to meet and greet fans, eat some good food, and model some of the latest biker wear.

The Dogs get a great game from Doug Groenstege and a 4-1 win in front of a decent crowd at the coliseum. Dan Vandermeer had two goals and Bill Vandermeer got his first professional goal. Dennis Mullen added the empty netter.

The Frostbite beat the RiverDogs 2-1 in a shootout. David Brosseau scored for the Dogs and Doug Groenstege had a good night in goal. ...just couldn't stop Belanger and Cloutier.

The Adirondack Frostbite beat the RiverDogs 5-3. RiverDogs goals were by Mike Oliveira, Bobby Kukulka, and Brian Goudie. Mike D'Alessandro got the loss.

The Richmond RiverDogs beat the visiting Roanoke Valley Vipers 5-4 in a 13 round shootout. JJ Wrobel got the winning goal and Mike D'Alessandro got the win in net.

The Danbury Trashers beat the Richmond RiverDogs 3-1 in front of 3,102 at the Coliseum. Brian Goudie scored the lone goal for the Dogs with less than a minute remaining in the game. Doug Groenstege was in goal and made 32 saves on 35 shots.

The Danbury Trashers beat the Richmond RiverDogs 5-2 in front of a decent crowd of 3600. Goal scorers for the Dogs were Jason Cassells and Mike Wolf.

The Dogs lost 2-1 in a chippy game that saw Doug Groenstege's first regular season game. The Vipers outshot the Dogs 2-1 for the game and finally scored two quick goals in the third to take the lead and get the win.

The Adirondack Frostbite at Richmond RiverDogs for opening night in Richmond. Adirondack scored the first 4 goals and won 5-3.

Richmond Riverdogs Coach Robbie Nichols and PBP Adam were at the Kickers game giving out schedules and meeting fans tonight. Razz was also on hand to pal around with Kickeroo for the evening.
The Kickers made a special presentation prior to the start of the game to recognize Pattie while she was home on her two weeks off time. The Kickers retired Rob Ukrop's jersey tonight at halftime. A very nice evening.
