When you get U-point you can add back in the sky!!!!

looks slightly overexposed or under-saturated. You could check it in Aperture with the hot and cold area control and let me know.

Do you use "high and cold area" in the view drop down of Aperture? I find it invaluable in locating 255 and plus highlight zones and 0 zones of the dynamic range - in other words blown out highlights or clipped blacks. I then use first recovery to handle the blown out highlights and highlight control if still needed) and the black point and shadows adjustment as needed.

bullseye on the baby's expression and the toy dog is a great touch.

Well, this is what makes baby photography so tough - they don't always cooperate

DavidziffUnited States wrote: Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 8:30 AM

terrific! Great idea well executed.

Who is MichelleAnne and the provocative photo? (I love the skin tones and expressions on this great photo!!!)

DavidziffUnited States wrote: Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 8:27 AM

The prospective of this photo bothers me a bit as it emphasizes the baby's baldness which alarmed me a bit in terms of whether she's healthy or not.

#####
she is healthy but point taken.

Perhaps the dynamic range could have been improved (and make the photo more pleasing) by using the shadows adjustment to open up the background shadows.

DavidziffUnited States wrote: Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 8:24 AM

Do you think you could have opened up the background a bit? The shadows adjustment would have done the trick. It's a case of inadequate dynamic range as the background has begun to be blotchy and distracting.

I love the sharpness of this photo

DavidziffUnited States wrote: Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 8:19 AM

Is the foreground out of focus? Not sure why the bags seem blurry (?)

Very nice - were you on a ladder or did you climb a tree? :-)

I wonder about the composition of the high-cropped out father and daughter (?) on the left

DavidziffUnited States wrote: Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 8:14 AM

Technically great shot and wonderful use of flash, however from the viewpoint of quality of comm the expression of the baby isn't pleasing of course; not particularly what the parents would prefer to see.

YES!

Might have been better if black-clad leg cropped out on the right

Hey Gina:

You look still very attractive as you were in high school. You used to call me Hee. I am the Korean guy from Ms. Hibbard's Biology class.
