Stereo Window

An old Realist shot of my daugher Kaye. demonstrating the stereo window. Shot on Fuji 100 ASA print film, prints were then chopped up and mounted to individual views. These were scanned into Photoshop for fun and games. For more 3D photos, join the 3D Stereoview Exchange at groups.yahoo.com/group/3D-StereoviewXchange or see my other galleries and news linked at briandavidphillips.typepad.com/brian/ (my blog).

Autostereoscopic "Wobble" 3D Images Redux

This is an album to compare my original autostereoscopic wobble images to some created by Jonas Lonborg based upon my images.

Jonas added 6 more frames to each image, 3 between each of the original frames (if you look at the animation as a sort of "full-circle" thing). He then faded each new frame into the target frame by changing the opacity, first 75%, then 50% and finally 25%. I also changed the delay to "none."

While a couple of these don't work as well for me, I like his effect overall. Hopefully there will be a streamlined way to get the effect.

Autostereoscopic "Wobble" 3D Images

These are my wobble-based 3D photo experiments. They are autostereoscopic images based upon animated GIF files that wobble back and forth between the left and right eye view. Because of the phenomenon of "persistance of vision" - the same principle that allows us to see motion pictures as seamless fluid motion - there should be an illusion of depth or space. Even folks who normally do not have proper depth perception can view the illusion of depth here. Note, some folks who are particularly sensitive to flashing or movement may experience odd sensations when viewing these. You can train yourself to see the depth and not experience vertigo, but you don't have to. If the images make you uncomfortable, then don't look at them.

Anaglyphs

Welcome to my anaglyphic life. Here are selected 3D stereophotos in anaglyph format. You will need a pair of anaglyphic glasses to view these in 3D - the red-blue glasses - the red lens goes over the left eye and the blue goes over the right eye. Enjoy.

2005-11-20 Environs out and about
Nov 20, 2005

This month's theme at the 3D Stereoview eXchange is "Home and Environs" so to speak. So, I did a little walkabout and snapped some quickies. There are just a few quickie shots out and about my home and within a short walking distance. These were all taken with the Loreo 3D Lens in a Cap on a Digital Rebel then processed using the auto features in Anabuilder. These are all in parallel format. The eXchange is at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/3D-StereoviewXchange for those interested in joining us.

2004-02-14 Mage Knight Stereo Pairs
Feb 14, 2004

Macro 3D shots of Mage Knight miniatures. The figures are about an inch high and come from the collectible sets produced by Wizkids (http://www.wizkidsgames.com). . They're a lot of fun. This is the first time I've done macro (extreme close-up photography), particularly in 3D. These were taken with the Pentax Optio 430RS digital camera on a slide bar and then manipulated in Anabuilder and Photoshop. This album contains the stereo pairs for this set.
