Animals and Wildlife of Japan
Geolocation
Jun 15, 2007

This is a new and very interesting topic to me. Japan is like Australia, an island(rocket science, eh). So it has unusual and unique animals as well. Unlike Australia, it's animals are virtually unknown to even the Japanese. Talking with National Geogrpahic, they said they would are very interested in photos and information on many of Japan's animals. If you have pictures and or know resources about the animals of Japan, please let me know. You can get more information at my blog http://Japan-Animals.blogspot.com . Thanks, Bryan

2009 May - Japan

i went to Nezu, Tokyo, Japan. Nezu is famous for this purple flower that grows on bushes this time of year. I will have to say I feel Nezu gets a lot of hype for being in Tokyo. Abiko was far better. Go to Abiko, Chiba, Japan instead. more flowers, a better and larger temple, larger gardens and more parks, etc. My friend and I went to Ibaraki after that. It was a lot of fun. I went on the new TX Tsukuba Line. Very fast and very high tech.

Drinks of Japan
Geolocation

Japan has an extremely diverse selection of beers. Not only from city to city, but even neighborhood to neighborhood. The quality is extremely high (usually) and there is a wide variety of tastes. I really enjoy trying all of the different varieties.

December 2008 - Japan and Koishikawa Kōrakuen Garden (小石川後楽園 )
Geolocation
Dec 1, 2008

Koishikawa Kōrakuen Garden (小石川後楽園 ) is in Koishikawa, Bunkyō, Tokyo, adjacent to Tokyo Dome City.

The construction was started in 1629 by Yorifusa Mito, the Daimyo of Mito Tokugawa family, and w family, and was completed by his successor, Mitsukuni Mito, a very famous Daimyo in the early Edo period.

Mitsukuni adopted an opinion of a Chinese scholar and named this garden "Koraku-en" (Koraku means "enjoying afterwards") after a Chinese teaching of "a governor should worry before people and enjoy after people".

This garden is full of Chinese flavor under the influence of Mitsukuni.

Korakuen was appointed as the special place of scenic beauty and the special historic site based on the cultural properties protection law of Japan.

All through Japan, there are only seven premises which enjoy double appointments by this Law. They are Kinkakuji, Ginkakuji, Sampo-in of Dogoji all in Kyoto, the trace of Nibo-no-miya in the third line of Heijō-kyō left city in Nara, Itsukushima Shrine in Hiroshima and Hamarikyū and Kōrakuen in Tokyo.
