Wow... What A Week... Talk about 'Life in the Fast Lane'...

We ended up with 24 Pirateheads in Vegas... Never did manage to get a picture of all of us together, but did get one with 14 of us...

We kinda' had our own 'Meeting of the Minds' in Sin City...

From Hooters Girls & Elvis... to Jimmy's band & 'Club Trini' members - Mike Utley & Robert Greenidge, along with Doyle Grisham, John Frinzi & Tommy Rocker jammin' at Hooters until 3:00 AM, we certainly had fun.. After raising the dead, (or maybe we never did go to sleep... ) we started again at a Hooters' Pool Party, then off to the Street Party at Margaritaville, a Parking Lot Party at the MGM, and finally to the Buffett concert, where we ended up on the Jumbotron from the Street Party at Margaritaville.

After a great concert, we ended the night back at Hooters for more...

There's no slowin' down yet... We ended the week with a helicopter tour from Vegas through the Grand Canyon and back...

What a Day... What a Week... What a Party...

I can hardly wait to see what we'll dig up to do next year....!

Friar's Pub 2008: Lots of fun was had! Conga lines, leis, and tequila consumption galore. The pH Unbalanced Band, Jimmy Buffett tribute band par excellence, belted out the tunes for Parrotheads and other bar patrons (possible Parrot-Head wannabees?) Although it wasn't quite spring outside, it sure felt like a tropical summer inside!

Club members participated in the Annual River clean-up again this year, and it was a great day to be outside! Among the more bizarre finds are the parts of 9th Avenue Bridge underneath that bridge. (Yikes!) A big thank you to Loralyne for organizing this event once again. Also a big thanks to Chuck for the Baileys-and-coffee at the Hose-and-Hound Pub.

So another successful phling is now behind us and we thank you all for your help in putting this event together – you know who you are and we couldn’t do it without you.

The definitive Jimmy Buffett tribute band, "Parrots of the Caribbean", performed at the Coca-Cola stage at the Calgary Stampede this year. A cool concert in the hot weather!

Several Parrot Head members and friends went camping in the North Ghost River Wilderness Recreation Area for the third consecutive year. The weather was excellent

Parrot-Head members had phun at the golf tournament at the Boulder Creek Golf Course. Afterwards, we went to Gord and Cindy's place nearby for prizes and Cheeseburgers. Sunny weather made for a great day of golf... Lots of fun was had by all.

Thanks again to Bev & Derek Devlin for hosting the phlocking on Saturday July 26. The kabobs and wings were awesome – and so were all the other goodies... The Las Vegas PHC Last Man Standing Party was just great with several live bands that played a lot of Jimmy tunes. The setting was great being around the pool with our Canadian flag draped over a Palm Tree. The street party on Saturday put on by Margaritaville was a long day with lots of phellow Canadians signing our flag with a few token wanna be Canadians. It was a huge hit and made it home this year

Another successful toy drive and a great time had by all. Thanks to everyone who pitched in from manning the door to selling of 50/50 tickets (Congratulations John S. on your win) , closing off the silent auction, to our group of elves who came out yesterday to bag the toys and delivery of same to Cerebral Palsy Association Alberta where 80 needy families will benefit from your generosity. We collected 216 toys which is awesome. Also a big thank you to Pam and her team at Friars Pub for taking care of us on Saturday nite – also thank you to Friars for hiring the pH Unbalanced band as that helps us out in a huge way. Also – Santa Pete – thanks for making an appearance and doing your thing.
