ALOTT !!maybe 1000-2000 pounds ??? 2) we raised approx $3700 from silent auction for Meals On Wheels and PADS see photos) )

Hey PHC BBQ Team: Huge THANK YOU to our hosts Bev , Derrick, and rest of PHC "crew" who put on an excellent summer BBQ event [that] Saturday. Your hard work shows as you guys did a _great_ job as the event worked and ran like a well-oiled machine.
In addition, Having Chuck Rose play J.B. music was a real treat! Looks like everybody enjoyed themselves.

Well the 16th Annual Spring Phling is now behind us. What a great night Saturday was. A phun time had by all. Thanks to Chuck and his staff at the Hose & Hound for providing the venue and closing it off for a Private Function. Thanks to all the staff for the great service. Thanks to everyone who helped at the Door, 50/50 tix, Silent Auction, decorating and the take down yesterday morning. We raised approximately $3500 which will be split evening between PADs Calgary (Pacific Assistance Dogs) and Meals on Wheels / School Soup Program. Thanks as well to Chuck, Joyce, Nick & Chris for providing the live music. You guys & gal sounded great.

A huge thank you to all that came out on that Sunday for the River Clean Up – a record 35 people which is absolutely fantastic. Thank you as well to Loralyne for being the Leader of this event.

We returned to the North Ghost River Wilderness campground in 2010, and had lots of luck with the weather. Lots of fun, relaxing down by the river, with JB and a variety of other music playing. Mark P. had also pitched his old tent -- into the trash.

Thank you again to Steve & Cathy for hosting a great BBQ/phlocking on a sunny Saturday. We had a great turnout with 27 people attending. We probably had the best day of summer that day and were able to sit outside till quite late. Thanks again for your hospitality Steve & Cathy, and thanks to all who came out.

Lots of phun at the Spring Phling!!
We raised $3017 for PADS Calgary at the Spring Phling. Congratulations Parrot Heads. An event like this does not just come together by itself, thank you to all of you who decorated, worked the silent auction, worked the door, sold 50/50 tickets – give yourselves a pat on the back. A huge thank you goes out to all of our donors to the silent auction – thank you, thank you – we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you to Shuckalucks for hiring the pH Unbalanced band – we couldn’t do it without you. Thanks as well to servers Jess & Kristen and bartenders Jarod & Dan… A job well done looking after a thirsty and hungry phlock. Thank you as well to PADS for supporting the Spring Phling and having Buffett, Monday, Orbital, Ross & Charlie in the house was great.

A great start to our fund raising activities this year – thank you to all and congratulations everyone...

We participated again in Calgary's 43rd Annual River Clean-Up. Considering the previous days' weather; we were relatively lucky that Sunday. Due to our growing numbers, we were assigned a longer section of riverbank to clean. Afterwards, we went to the Hose-and-Hound Pub for cheeseburgers and boat drinks.

We had our 14th annual Christmas Drive at Shuckalucks Pub in support of the Calgary Veterans Food Bank and PADS Calgary. Thanks to Cisco Foods for their support and also to the regulars from Shucks for embracing our cause. We also had our silent auction; thanks to everyone who donated silent auction items and door prizes.
Thank you to the pH Unbalanced Band for putting on a great show. Joyce – you and the boys did a great job. Finally – a big shout out to Shuckalucks’ owner Sherry who helped with everything and made sure the evening went smoothly. Thank you to Shuckalucks for hiring the pH Unbalanced Band and allowing us to make this our most successful Christmas Drive yet.

Thanks to Gord & Cindy for hosting us on the Labour Day long weekend and sharing their home with us…..A great “windy” time was had by all...

Another successful toy drive and a great time had by all. Thanks to everyone who pitched in from manning the door to selling of 50/50 tickets (Congratulations John S. on your win) , closing off the silent auction, to our group of elves who came out yesterday to bag the toys and delivery of same to Cerebral Palsy Association Alberta where 80 needy families will benefit from your generosity. We collected 216 toys which is awesome. Also a big thank you to Pam and her team at Friars Pub for taking care of us on Saturday nite – also thank you to Friars for hiring the pH Unbalanced band as that helps us out in a huge way. Also – Santa Pete – thanks for making an appearance and doing your thing.

The Las Vegas PHC Last Man Standing Party was just great with several live bands that played a lot of Jimmy tunes. The setting was great being around the pool with our Canadian flag draped over a Palm Tree. The street party on Saturday put on by Margaritaville was a long day with lots of phellow Canadians signing our flag with a few token wanna be Canadians. It was a huge hit and made it home this year

Parrot-Head members had phun at the golf tournament at the Boulder Creek Golf Course. Afterwards, we went to Gord and Cindy's place nearby for prizes and Cheeseburgers. Sunny weather made for a great day of golf... Lots of fun was had by all.

Thanks again to Bev & Derek Devlin for hosting the phlocking on Saturday July 26. The kabobs and wings were awesome – and so were all the other goodies... Thanks to everyone who came and braved the “elements”!! Also a big thank you to Chuck Rose for taking time out of his Folk Fest schedule and playing some Buffett tunes for us.

Several Parrot Head members and friends went camping in the North Ghost River Wilderness Recreation Area for the third consecutive year. The weather was excellent

The definitive Jimmy Buffett tribute band, "Parrots of the Caribbean", performed at the Coca-Cola stage at the Calgary Stampede this year. A cool concert in the hot weather!

So another successful phling is now behind us and we thank you all for your help in putting this event together – you know who you are and we couldn’t do it without you.
A huge thank you to Kim & staff at Friars for – hiring the pH Unbalanced Band for the evening’s entertainment – great job, Joyce and the boys. Kim: a huge thank you to you as well for rounding up the Corona Rep and having some much Corona stuff to hand out – start finding stuff for the Toy Drive in the fall

Club members participated in the Annual River clean-up again this year, and it was a great day to be outside! Among the more bizarre finds are the parts of 9th Avenue Bridge underneath that bridge. (Yikes!) A big thank you to Loralyne for organizing this event once again. Also a big thanks to Chuck for the Baileys-and-coffee at the Hose-and-Hound Pub.

Friar's Pub 2008: Lots of fun was had! Conga lines, leis, and tequila consumption galore. The pH Unbalanced Band, Jimmy Buffett tribute band par excellence, belted out the tunes for Parrotheads and other bar patrons (possible Parrot-Head wannabees?) Although it wasn't quite spring outside, it sure felt like a tropical summer inside!

Wow... What A Week... Talk about 'Life in the Fast Lane'...

We ended up with 24 Pirateheads in Vegas... Never did manage to get a picture of all of us together, but did get one with 14 of us...

We kinda' had our own 'Meeting of the Minds' in Sin City...

From Hooters Girls & Elvis... to Jimmy's band & 'Club Trini' members - Mike Utley & Robert Greenidge, along with Doyle Grisham, John Frinzi & Tommy Rocker jammin' at Hooters until 3:00 AM, we certainly had fun.. After raising the dead, (or maybe we never did go to sleep... ) we started again at a Hooters' Pool Party, then off to the Street Party at Margaritaville, a Parking Lot Party at the MGM, and finally to the Buffett concert, where we ended up on the Jumbotron from the Street Party at Margaritaville.

After a great concert, we ended the night back at Hooters for more...

There's no slowin' down yet... We ended the week with a helicopter tour from Vegas through the Grand Canyon and back...

What a Day... What a Week... What a Party...

I can hardly wait to see what we'll dig up to do next year....!
