March 2012-Growth Check

I decided to stretch my hair to see where it is. Part of it is MBL but I am waiting for the rest of it to catch up. I will probably post new growth check pictures again between Memorial Day and my birthday which is in late June.

Flat ironed my hair to see where I'm at for the end of this year. Will do updates again in the beginning of March. Hopefully I will be close or at MBL!

Also took a couple of photos of my hair in it's curly state pinned to the side.

    Bandout Pictures

I have been wanting to try a bandout for awhile and finally did. I washed and conditioned my hair, then finger combed insome Lustrasilk Olive Oil Cholesterol.

I put my hair into one single ponytail, and banded it with about 4 ponytail holders. I let it dry overnight. When I woke it up it was still a little damp where the bands were.

I took them off one by one and blow dryed on a medium warm setting to make sure the hair was dried. I liked the stretched out curly look! Definitely have some more hang time and a lot less volume.

Rollersetting with Conici Rollers (Ethiopian rollers)

I did a very quick rollerset with some 50mm Conici rollers ( these are rollers that are used in Ehtiopian salons, that are originally from Italy). I also used some Annie 1.5 inch red mesh rollers in the front and some 2 inch magnetic rollers to compare the results of all three rollers. As you can see, I did not focus too much on smoothing my hair in the roller, which probably wasn't the best idea, but I was pressed for time. Product wise, I used Giovani leave-in and some Ion Jojoba Flat iron Cream. I decided to flat iron afterward so that I could length check and dust my ends.

    Roller Setting with Magnetic Rollers

I wanted to test out my new Belson Gold N' Hot rollabout dryer (got it Sally's for $88, and love it), so I decided to do a rollerset with magnetic rollers which I am still learning how to use. I used a mostly gray (2 inch) and some black (2.5 inch) rollers.

I'm at least 12 weeks post relaxer so I have quite a bit of new growth. I ended up flat ironing my roots and doing a silk wrap.

I was pleased with the results considering how my magnetic sets usually turn out.
