Gone fishing with Darrell, Sandra and Scott. Was a great day with great weather and great fish. I and Sandra did not catch any but the boys did.

The fish must have figured out that it was not a good place to feed as NOBODY caught any fish apart from Jon who caught a Kahawai, after that there was only sea weed on the hooks.

Island Bay has a sandy beach, it was so windy that it sand blasted our legs so we left and went to try fishing in Petone but nothing worth keeping or eating was on our hooks. It's supposed to be good for snapper there, may be later.

The Mt Climie ridge provides the southern and eastern backdrop (and windbreak) to Upper Hutt. It is also part of the long northern skyline of the Rimutaka Range seen across the harbour from Wellington City.
The track to Mt Climie starts from the upper picnic area at Tunnel Gully. Along the summit ridge the vegetation opens out to give magnificent views of the Hutt Valley.

The weather forecast was sunny for the day but it was not so. It was drizzly most of the day and on top of the ridge it was bitter cold. It taught me that from now on I will ALWAYS have warm clothing with me when I walk up Mt. Climie.
