    Both side mirrors were still optional equipment in 1956.

    Great photos all! Wonder how the Trooper could see around that big siren on the fender? Also, no side mirrors? Maybe they were taken off for the paint job and not put back on before the photo. I assume the right fender light was a "pull over" light to a motorist as the Trooper came up alongside? Must have been quite a noise when that siren "lit up" with the driver's ears just aft of the unit.
