I drove one of these my first year on the job. Oh how I remember it, it was comfortable, fast, had a great growler under the hood, solid red ruby to the front and an amber to the rear. But... it didn't look too good when I got it stuck in the mud. The chief was louder than the siren when he saw it! Now our cars look like space ships of area 51...lol!

It could very well have been a detective unit. At that time, the detectives drove the same police package Gran Furys as patrol, sans the lights & decals. The inside was set up identically to the marked units, and they had a red spot. At night, during overlap, patrol drove these white unmarked cars as well.

You guys down South don't know how lucky you are. Those of us up here in the "rust belt" would kill for a project car in this shape.

this car has nothing to identify it as a classic squad car.
I was a police officer in Salinas in 1977 & most likely drove this car at one point on patrol. I still live in the Salinas area...if anyone knows where this car is I would love to stop by for a reunion!
Sorry freind. I bought this Caprice last spring and can't wait to drive it. I got big plans with it. My car club is having a show and fund raiser in June in Syracuse and I will be jumping this car over a ditch while chasing a Gen. Lee Charger. Then we will probably roll it if it survive's the jump
Lots of questions about this beauty. Let me answer some of them.
Yes. It's a real 1975 Plymouth Fury police car. This Fury came from the State of Kansas prison system as one of their admin vehicles. It's a 360 4bbl with just over 91k on the clock. The last time we drove it was in August when it was moved to our Texas storage facility. The mirror is off because we removed the screws to replace it with a nicer NOS mirror. We have also replaced the grille with a new one. This baby has no rust and runs very well. Dog dish caps are in the trunk.
This is one of the finest all original cop cars we've seen in a while. With the new year here already, it's time to think about thinning the herd a little. We've just got too many cars in our inventory. I'll tell you what. Because you guys are regular commentators here, we'll be willing to give you a pre-sale deal on this Fury.
Any offers?
