What a match! Hofstra won games 1 and 3, GMU won games 2 and 4...and then Hofstra won the deciding 5th game 15 - 12, ending GMU's plans for a win on Senior Night. Fans, family, friends, and GMU representatives said a hearty thanks to seniors Kristin Byler, Jacqueline Kohler, and Melissa Kryfka at their final home games. We'll miss them!

The GMU Patriots fought hard, but still fighting illness, were unable to stop the Delaware Blue Hens on their home court. A rowdy, spirited Blue Hens crowd didn't help, either (but one of the GMU fans commented on how tired they were of getting kicked by the Blue Hens fans...maybe they can clean up their act before the CAA Tournament?). It was a great effort by our Patriots, but they lost to a Delaware team that's peaked.

A not-quite-healthy GMU team faced off against an up-and-coming Towson team...and lost a difficult match. With Rebecca Walter and Jacqueline Kohler well under the weather and others not feeling well, GMU was at a significant disadvantage. GMU played hard, but the illnesses slowed play. The GMU Patriots Women's Volleyball team beat a determined VCU team 3 -1. After winning the first two sets, GMU lagged after some errors, allowing VCU to take the third set. In the fourth set, however, GMU took the lead and never looked back, easily taking the fourth set.

In a sizzling match, GMU beat William & Mary 3 -2, with a stunning victory in the fifth set of the 5-set match. GMU players pulled together superbly as a team to down the top-ranked W&M Tribe.

GMU beat JMU in the first two sets of this match, after both teams lead several times in each set. After the break, JMU came back with a vengeance--with more than a little help from the referees--and won the next two sets. GMU jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the final set, but JMU tied, then went and stayed ahead to the finish. GMU played hard, but came away frustrated.

GMU beat Howard convincingly 3 - 0 in this match in the annual Brion's Invitational Tournament at GMU. GMU hit .370 against Howard's .010, with 17 total blocks. Sarah, Fernanda, Holly, and Sam combined for 41 assists.
