These odd little wasps with their rounded off abdomens are really fast and quite small. I kept getting a glimps of those blue eyes and decided I neeeded a photo. The little guy in the bottom left corner was sort of a last minute addition. Not nearly as amusing there as he was when I editied. lol Thanks.
They are a wide spread species indeed. I believe there are some similar carpenter bees out there as well. They have beautiful eyes if you catch them in the right light. Quite docile.
