My brother moved to AZ several years before I did.An avid hiker and mountain biker, he had never seen a rattlesnake in AZ. When I moved to the state and began hiking during snake season I told tales of seeing two or three rattlers evey time I hiked. I joked that if I only saw one snake I wondered how close I was to the one or two I didn't see. After a couple of hikes with me he became a beliver. 2009 seems a bit more subdued. However, I think I'll run accross one a week.
11/01/09 Well the first freezes in the area marks the end of my little experiment for '09. There were ono or two that didn't make it to tha album because of deleted and lost files but, I fell short of my snake a week prediction. All of the wildlife was a bit scarce this year because of our drier than usual rainy season. Illness kept me off the trails for the last month or so. Thanks to those regular followers. We'll revisit the subject next season.
