AMT's '62 Impala SS, with a windshield, dashboard, 4 bucket seats, door panels, console and rear portion of the hood from AMT's '94 Camaro convertible. The tulip panel, folded top and two "up" tops were also taken from the Camaro kit. The "up" top was cut and extended to reach the windshield, and the tulip panel was molded to the trunk of the '62. All side trim was removed with only the rocker panel trim remaining, and the fuel filler door was filled in. The Camaro hood was cut at the nose end, the '62 hood was mated to it, and the grooves from the Camaro hood were extended into the new nose. The Impala doors were filled in, the Camaro doors were scribed in their place, and Corvette photoetched door handles were added. Chassis and engine are stock items from the '62 kit, and the rims and tires are from Aoshima. Paint is Dupli-Color's "Mirage" Purple/Green (10 Color Coats and 3 clear coats) on the body and Model Master Leather for the interior. Impala SS decals were taken from Revell's '64 Impala kit. This one has fallen off the shelf twice since it was built, so it's not in pristine shape any longer, but the paint is so nice I refuse to strip and redo it.
