Ok Let's Set the record straight you can modify a Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 16v Engine to 240BHP then you add a turbo for increased power. So Whats Your Reply To That.

P.s. I am not a 16 year old trying to look cool to my mates i am a qualified car mechanic.

Right, some proper information for you.

You can modify the NA C20XE to around 300bhp using throttle bodies, mentally wild cams (too long for a turbo), (your not going to get anything over 190bhp using the standard inlet, otherwise you would have to use nitrous). This is a full race spec, rebuild every 4000 miles jobbie. Best power/maintence is to aim for around 220bhp. Again, u'll still need throttle bodies, cams, head work, engine managment etc. You can add a turbo to this, and it will give good power, but its a very long winded way to go, and very expensive, plus getting the throttle bodies wot work with a turbo is quite difficult.

Information on LET calibras for you as your not too clued up on it it seems.

204bhp -200lb ft torque standard.

You can go the "Phase" tuning route (1-2-3-3.5-4-4.5-5).
This is a simple clip n run upgrade. As a ROUGH guide as every single engine will be diffent.

PH1 - Around 230-240bhp
PH2 - Around 250-280bhp
PH3 - Around 300bhp
PH3.5 (at this point, you need to start looking at upgrading the internals of the engine)- about 320bhp

And so on and so on. These mods increase the boost ont he turbo. You can run up to about 300bhp on the STANDARD turbo unit. After which it'll need replacing for a larger item (T3 etc). Other alternatives are the VMAX software. Similar setup (Chip) but differnet tuning stages.

Then there is going the Motronic route (Do you know what this is?). This is a complete managment changeover. I can give you a lot more info if you want.

You getting 240bhp really isn't too hard at all from the LET. Upgraded IC (Thats InterCooler), exhaust, raise the boost from the standard 7psi to around 10psi and you'll have around 240bhp. Thats a very simple power to obtain from this engine.

You may be a qualified meccy, but your not clued up on vauxhall engines mate.

As for this purple corsa. It WAS running 161bhp@7519rpm 1.6 16v (109 std) (Mantzel Tuned) but she blew it up playing against my 2.0 corsa and a VX220. Now also has a C20LET (Carry on through the pictures) running standard boost, large custom IC, straight through 2.5" bore system. Should be about 210-220bhp. But, the Calibra is a barge in terms of weight. Power to Weight = the corsa would be quicker. Calibra would be quicker from a standing start with its (lmao) superb 4x4 jelly made system, but once running, power to weight....

Well, considering this Corsa has a 2.0 16v Turbo (C20LET) from a Calibra, I can assure you your NA 2.0 16v (Which i have in my corsa) wouldn't come near.....

Interior was £6k in total including all the equipment (TV, DVD, subs etc). It was done by Carisma, but in all honesty i'd stear WELL clear of that company now. Nothing like it used to be, Jamies turned into an arrogent arse whos only about the "bling bling", max power, and money. Its not about the cars anymore and the cars are never treated with respect unless you are loaded.

Interior in total cost £6000. Sounds quite a lot, but considering all the work thats gone into it (thats including all the equipment, DVD player, Screen, subs etc), its really not all that bad a price. Jamies quality is superb as well, I cannot fault the interior in any way!!

I have seen this car at trax at silverstone for the last 2 years and saw it in a magazine (cant remember which). I have to say what a wicked job has been done on this baby. It looks fantastic. A lot of work has gone into it. Hats off!!

I have a Corsa SRi. At the moment it simply has 2 interior mods (nothing special) and a big bore 4 back box. New pipercross induction kit on its way too. I need some ideas for improving looks, performance and sound on the cheap as i'm skint. any ideas? feel free to email me.
