Our daughter, Emily Reilly, bib number 797, ran in this event to prepare for the Richmond Marathon in November.

We moved from place to place on the course and took pictures of her and of people running before and after her. She was near the front of the race, so people toward the front are more likely to be in the on-course pictures.

After she finished, I stood at the finish line and took pictures until about the 300th runner to finish. I got a lot of people at the finish line.

Want to know how to ruin your picture at the finish line? Push your watch button for the last 30 meters of the race. If you want it to look really bad, look down at your watch while you're pushing the button. I was surprised how many people did this at the finish line.

25th Richmond Marathon. I took about 400 pictures at various places for this event, and I have posted about 360 of them.

I primarily took pictures of members of the YMCA training group (all wearing yellow shirts), especially our daughter, Emily Grossman, Number 1853, and her fiance, Tom Reilly, who has a yellow goatee.

These pictures are posted in the order they were taken through the day, from before the race, to several places on the course, to the Finish Line, to after the race.

Our daughter Emily Grossman (No. 613) and her fiance, Tom Reilly (No. 612) are training with a YMCA group to run the Richmond Marathon in November 2002.

They ran the Richmond Battlefield Half-Marathon on September 1.

Emily's parents, her sister, Joanna, and Joanna's boyfriend, hopped from place to place along the course, cheering for all runners at each spot, providing Gatorade, and taking pictures.

The pictures here are in the order they were taken, at various places along the course.

Most of them include Emily or Tom. We also took pictures of their YMCA training partners, if we knew who they were. We took pictures of volunteers and race personnel where we could. And we took some random pictures.
