Even with my Hp camera I get these spot marks. I have always wondered what they were as they only show up at certain times.

Hey, its just dust on the sensor. It happens mostly with the bigger more expencive Digital SLR cameras.

It only is visible with higher F/stop #'s (smaller apperature size). Usually at f/8 it wont be visible.

With small digital cameras with smaller sensors it probably appears in smaller FStop #'s as well, since this show clearly shows dust and it was shot at f/8.

Also, its more noticible in things with even bright colours like the sky.
And the camera is more likely to stop down (use higher f/stop #'s) due to the brightness of the sky in the photo.

Thanks for putting this up! I saw the same thing with my Canon Rebel XT when I shoot outside, especially when it is cool. It only seems to appear on the blue sky..wonder why.

How much does it cost to get it cleaned?

I am glad it still works but this is still another reason not to buy point and shoots from ebayers..... lol
