I've kept my hair in braids for the majority of 2011. It is the easiest for me and it helps me to retain length. Plus I do my own braids so its convenient and cheap! As my hair has grown, it has become unbelievably more prone to tangles and knots, which leads to breakage.
In between braid styles, I usually do a couple of deep conditions and try to manipulate my hair as little as possible.
My product list is pretty small: Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo (only for when I take out my braids) Shea Moisture- Moisture Retention Shampoo (for regular washes) Kemi Oil (for shine and softness) Shea Butter Coconut oil Castor oil (mainly to moisturize ends)
Giovanni Direct Leave-In conditioner Dr Miracles Tingling Intensive Deep conditioning treatment. Mix of Castor oil, Coconut oil and Grapeseed oil as a Hot oil treatment
While My hair is in braids, I'll usually use Better Braids braid Spray to moisturize
I didn't take ANY hair pics so here is a round-up of all the random pics that show my hair the best
