Pretty sure the store on the left is the Kay Bee Toys. I worked at the KB in Great Lakes Mall in the late 90's, and the word was that the Euclid location was closed in a sting operation that caught an internal theft ring. It seems the employees of the Euclid store would steal video games the day they were shipped in and with the help of at least one Mall security guard, sell them off to the new and used video game place. (I'm not certain if the new and used store was actually in the Euclid Square Mall).
It's not Black Folks.. It's ignorance and obviously that can come in any color because im responding to your ignorant BS and Im caucasion. That's why your comment is anonymous. You know better!
i feel so sorry for this mall i want it to open again and i want randall to open its so ashame that BLack folks DO NOT LIKE TO CARE FOR THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG! My grandmother used to love to eat here! She was so obsessed!! They're all gone aren't they? Years ago there was one in the Mentor area, but I don't know if it's still there..
According to the website there are some still in operation in Southern Ohio. We had loads of Ponderosa's in this area years back. This one in Euclid, one in Mentor and one on Vine Street in Eastlake as well.
That's the front to the $ bank that was in that mall. I worked for that bank in the late '90s til 2000 and my job involved traveling to all of the branches in the NE Ohio. Even in the late '90s, this mall was dying. Sad to see it so empty. As I remember, the bank invested a fair amount in this branch due to an agreement with the mall management.
WOW. I lived in Euclid from birth until 1982. I still have relatives there but haven't been back since 2003. Things have really changed. It was a great place to grow up and I remember the Mall when it first opened. I even worked there for awhile during high school. I guess you can't always go back home. What a difference from where I live now (North of Denver). New shopping centers/malls were built 15 miles from each other until '08 when the recession hit. On my commute home from work, I pass at least 3 Bed, Bath & Beyonds, Dick's Sporting Goods, etc... Unlike most areas, you still wouldn't know there is a recession because the stores and restaurants are always busy. I've wanted development to slow down for the past 10 years, I guess I better be careful of what I wish for. Anyone from EHS class of 78?
I also worked at the mall in the maintenance dept from 1987 to 1995. It was the best job I ever had. We had so much fun there it didn't even seem like a job. There was such a variety of things to do there. It's sad that it had to end. I remember one time there was a helicopter hovering over the mall. The one security guard there called the security director over the radio to ask what he should do about it. The security director came over the radio and told him to shoot it down. (security didn't carry guns at that time) So funny!
