Just completed a 5496 mile trip from Florida to Sturgis, South Dakota, via Michigan, on my 2006 Triumph Rocket III Classic. Only one minor problem, the bike's battery "mysteriously" discharged. A local bike shop in Decorah, IA picked up my bike and trailered it to the shop. After charging the battery and checking the charging system, the bike was ready to go. This fine service cost a total of $26.40! The rest of the trip was uneventful.

Going through the mountains was a tad hairy for me, the Harley folks passed me by the dozens on the curves; however, once we hit a flat stretch, my Rockett III ate their lunch!

Only saw one other Rocket III on my trip, that was in Wall, South Dakota. Many riders approached me and asked questions concerning the Rockett III. Most had only heard about it and many had seen a picture in a magazine.

My rocket is equipped with touring accessories that made the long trip totally comfortable, with a few exceptions. Windshield, wind deflectors, fog lamps, sead with a backrest are a few of the items. My lessons learned on the road had me install a Throtlemeister cruise control and a Givi Luggage Trunk.

I have athritis in my hands and holding the throttle, even with the Kuryakin Throttle Boss attached gave me some problems. Also, when I hit fould weather I had to undo bungee cords to get to my rain gear. With the new trunk my rain gear, or leather jacket will be readily accessible.

I am 61 yrs old and disabled. I have difficulty walking but I can ride! The Rockett III handled the road beautifully and I know there are bikers in South Dakota that are still wondering what the hell it was that passed them on the open highway.

Happy Riding to All!!
