| | Art Work My art is neither cerebral, symbolic, or portentous. It is the obsession and celebration of composition and color. I work my pieces to vibrate in harmony, by playing off color theory with compositional creativity. My art targets the soul, the unspoken, quiet truths of beauty.
I often work repetition (usually threes) into my work, either repetition within the work or panels that work together. This comes from a focus on compositional balance that has its foundations as far back as The Renaissance (triptychs as well as three-figure religious compositions).
A look at my photography brings this same repetition theme to bear, coupled with an obsession to capture the world in compositions. To break everyday views down into tight compositions. To find beauty in the places where it should not exist an old can, graffiti, metal scraps
THE MAGICAL SMALL DETAILS OF LIFE
The magical small details of life the small things the texture, the folds, the way things meet, beautifully
The small little breaths the hands of a child the little pudgy fingers
The flakes of paint and buttons and clasps the weave, each thread a ribbon, its border the way it turns in light
My art is evolution. I try and change my style and approach to let my creativity soar. I am not chained to a style. I dont want to be know for a style. I want to be know for being "creativity." Nevertheless, as much as I try to push myself to be different, common techniques and themes seem to hold the entire body together. I always push myself in new directions, but will settle into approaches for periods to see themes to their logical conclusions.
