Church Family Retreat

January 16-17, 2005

About thirty people from our church went to a farmhouse near Ulm, Germany to spend a short two day vacation together.

The farmhouse was wonderful. Lots of rooms, great big kitchen and common area. We played games, fellowshipped, ate dinner and breakfast together and the kids had a great time seeing all the animals!

We then visited Neuschwanstein, a famous castle in Germany. We walked up to it and shot some great photos. We all had a great time!

Jul 4, 2005

Our church had its annual 4th of July picnic and softball game at Big Mike Park. Grace Baptist from Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels Baptist Church joined us. The weather was great this year!

I played photographer, but Deanna and Megan also took some photos.

There was lots of great food, too much to eat it all! The fellowship was great as well!

Our trip to Wiesbaden and Mainz, Germany

Labor Day weekend provided the perfect opportunity to do a little traveling. Pamela chose to visit Mainz, Germany, the city of Gutenberg and media. You can visit their website at http://www.mainz.de/.

We stayed at a hotel in Wiesbaden where an Army post is located. Mainz is about five minutes away from Wiesbaden. The hotel was awesome!

Mainz was a beautiful city. It's located on the Rhein River, one of the largest rivers in Germany.

We visited the Gutenberg Museum and saw Gutenberg's first Bible and his printing press. We saw different versions of the printing press, a replica of Gutenberg's workshop and a neat display of how the Chinese used to create their books.

It was so awesome! I couldn't take any pictures inside which was disappointing, but I will have those memories forever.

The Bible is inside glass protected by an alarm system. It's housed inside a very thick vault, giving you the impression that this is priceless! The Bible is split between the Old and New Testaments. The vault also contained other things printed by Gutenberg.

The weather was great, the sights were awesome and we had a wonderful time! Hope you enjoy the pictures we took!

Edelweiss Trip, Sept. 10-12

September 10 - 12, 2005

Our family had the opportunity to attend a marriage retreat this weekend at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in Garmisch, Germany. So we packed up the kids and drove south!

The retreat was awesome! Richard and I learned a lot of great things and the girls had fun doing different activities while we were busy.

We spent most of the time at the hotel, just hanging out with our friends, Andy and Allena and their two girls. The girls played video games and we all went swimming.

It rained (and I mean rained) most of the way to Garmisch so we took some photos for my hubby, the weather nut. We got some great shots of the Bavarian Alps and of the family.

I just love the scenery down there so there are lots of pictures of the beautiful mountains. It was cloudy and rainy most of the time, but overall, it was a fabulous weekend!
