We went to several small cities to see three Easter Egg Fountains. This is a tradition that started during the Middle Ages and continues to this day. The fountains are erected on Good Friday and taken down two weeks after Easter. They use real eggs and paint each one individually so each egg is unique. down two weeks after Easter. We traveled to Regensburg, Germany, the oldest city in Bavaria. It was established in the 2nd century and was the first official capital of Bavaria. The River Danube runs through the middle of Regensburg, separately the north and south of town. We took an hour and a half walking tour of the city and saw the original city gates and part of the old city wall that was built back when the Romans occupied the city. We then ate at a small typical Bavarian restuarant and then traveled to one of the largest malls in all of Germany. Regensburg, separately the north and south of town. We went with ACS to a farm house. The farm's name is Schladerhof. It was out past Amberg (about 21km away from Vilseck) and was just wonderful. The girls had a blast! - photos: 64 (40 MB)
