Every year, Chester, VA has a parade that runs straight through town. It's about three miles long and the entire main street (Route 10) is closed down for about two hours for this parade.

Megan's preschool department at Enon Baptist Church participated in the parade and had a float labeled "Happy Birthday Jesus!" and had a birthday cake on the float. They were cute!

Here we are already in December!

Our first January ever in Virginia. Deanna began classes at her new school and we got used to Richard working about twenty minutes from the house. We love our new place!

Pamela took the girls to Allena's in Pennsylvania over President's Day weekend. Kelly and her family were there too. It was so much fun! The girls (big and little) all had fun hanging out together. It was just like old times in Germany.

Here we are in February already! It's our first here in Virginia. Saw our first snowfall this month. It didn't last long, but it happened! Enjoy the photos!

Here we are already in March! So far, nothing exciting has been going on, just this and that. Richard is playing softball with his unit and Deanna is plugging away at school. Kathryn is growing, growing, growing and Megan is a joy as always!

It's April and time for spring!!

We had a BLAST at Busch Gardens today!! We went and took two of Richard's friends, Liz and Daniel, and had so much fun!

We arrived around noon and left the park as it was closing at 10:30. The girls loved it and Deanna rode her first roller coaster ever. They had lots of kids rides so Megan got to ride a lot of things.

Busch Gardens in Williamsburg has a Europe theme so we felt right at home there. We actually had some German food for dinner (I forgot to take a picture!). It actually tasted like the real thing.

Here we are, spending our first May in Virginia. The weather has been up and down, rainy, sunny, hot, cold, a little bit of everything!

Kathryn turns one this month. Can you believe that? It's also Mother's Day this month and there's Memorial Day weekend to look forward to.

Megan and I went to see Sesame Street Live in downtown Richmond. We had a blast! We were on row F on the floor, super close to the stage! Megan loved seeing all the characters from Sesame Street. It was a fun day!

The storyline is everyone is singing that it's a sunny dat at Sesame Street when a spaceship form Mars lands and two Martians come out. Their spaceship breaks so while they are fixing it, the characters teach them how to speak English and other things. They end up fixing the machine and having everyone help them to fly!

Here we are on our first Memorial Day in Virginia. Nothing exciting going on, just spending the day as a family.

We went to the park next to Deanna's school and played for about an hour. Then we cooked some steaks on the grill and had some baked potatoes, salad and deviled eggs to go with them.

At the end of the day, Deanna and Megan roasted some marshmallows over what was left of the heat from the grill. Over all, not a bad day!

June 2006 marked our tenth wedding anniversary! Can you believe it's been ten years? We find it hard to believe ourselves!

To celebrate, we drove about 45 minutes north to Paramount's King's Dominion, an amusement park.

We had a great time! We rode all but three rides (they were broken down due to the weather) and walked over 24 miles during our two days there.

Richard's favorite ride was Tomb Raider and Pamela's was The Italian Job. We both rode the Drop Zone, a ride where they strap you in, raise you 272 feet in the air and drop you straight down at 72 miles an hour! We've vowed not to ride that again! LOL

We had a great time and can't wait to take the kids there one day. They'd really enjoy the park since all the Nickelodeon characters are there too. (Yes, we met SpongeBob!!)

Here we are in our first June in Virginia. Boy, it's hot some day and cool others! Let's see, we celebrate Father's Day this month and Pamela and Richard celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. Deanna finished the school year and Megan and Kathryn are another month older. So, enjoy the photos!!

Whew is August hot!!! Record heat in VA this month!! Where's the rain? We will be enjoying lots of traveling this month so check out that in other albums. Can you believe Kathryn is already going to be 15 months old? Time flies!! School starts next month so one more month of freedom for Deanna. Megan's here too, growing like a weed. Enjoy!

Our first September here in Virginia. Deanna starts school this month and Megan heads to preschool! It'll be an adventure for sure!

Well, fall has begun here in Virginia! The days are cooler and the nights are cold! Here are some photos for your enjoyment!

We visited the Walthall Berries Farm and Pumpkin Patch. Deanna went with her Girl Scout Troop and Megan went with her Sunday School class so Kathryn and I tagged along!

The girls had a great time. Lots of mud around from all the rain we got Friday and the huge storm we got very early Saturday morning, but then the skies cleared and the sun came out and it was a nice day!

The girls were able to pet goats, feed turkeys, play on a playground, go through a haystack maze and ride on a hayride. They also got to slide on huge blowup slide.

Each girl got a small pumpkin to take home and I bought some yellow mums for the front porch. You could pick pumpkins from their patch, but we already had pumpkins on the porch so I skipped that part. Next year though, we will get them from there.
