| | | | | Third and Final Hair Journey Unfortunately, I made some bad choices with my hair AGAIN. It caused some serious heat damage, I got a horrible haircut in an attempt to fix it, and then I just decided that it would be best to just start over...again.
Well, I think that I've learned my lesson this time. I am ready to stop messing around and let my hair be all that it can be. My goal is to just let my hair grow as long as it will grow and be as healthy as possible.
One way that I plan to stick to it is to get back to my Fotki journal. I fell off with my support system last time so I ended up falling off with my hair care. But I'm back now. I'm still in school so that keeps me busy, but I'm glad to say that I'll be graduating this May. I'll post whenever I can. Here we go again. | | - Misc

October '11 thru January '12 -
This album starts my third and hopefully FINAL natural hair journey. :o) I cut my hair in May 2011, but I was not really growing it back out through the summer. I just kept it super short, and I was not sure if I even wanted to grow it out again. I really considered just keeping a super short, Amber Rose type hair cut. I actually did throughout the summer, but I have really been missing my hair and have considered growing it out. I loved the versatility of it. I liked doing twists, coils, braids, braid outs, wash-n-gos, etc. I miss my fro.
I wish that I did not heat damage my hair so bad during my second natural journey and then allow someone to give me a jacked up haircut. I certainly wish that I never got that curly perm during my first natural journey. I hate to think about what my hair would be like had I just been able to continue through that first natural journey. Oh well, what is done is done. It is time to start fresh again and try not to dwell on the past too much. Yet, I hope that I have learned from my mistakes, but you know how we can be with our hair sometimes...
Lessons learned: no chemicals whatsoever, as little heat as possible, and no straightening...parts of my hair just don't always curl back up again after straightening. I guess that it is just too much for my hair. - Album was created 1 year 4 months ago and modified 1 year 4 months ago

February thru March '12 -
I still really have not allowed my hair to grow out. I have still been cutting it and keeping it short. It just seems to work for my lifestyle. I do really like it short, too. It is so cute and easy. Plus, I do not have to worry about that long in-between stage so I have really been back and forth with myself trying to decide if I want to grow it out again.
I am very indecisive sometimes and change my mind a lot. Maybe it's a Gemini thing or just a woman thing. LOL I guess that we will just have to see if I have it in me to grow another full head of hair again for the third time. :o) It'll probably be a suprise to me too if I do or don't. - Album was created 11 months ago and modified 11 months ago

April thru May '12 (Months 1 and 2 towards growth) -
I got a "final haircut" on April 17th. This is my new "growth-day" for tracking my hair's progress. After wearing my hair really short and cropped for a full year, I have finally made the decision to fully commit to growing my hair out again. :o) - Album was created 11 months ago and modified 11 months ago

June '12 (month 3 towards growth) -
I am soooo glad to be done with school. Now I can get back to my fotki updates, bonding with my natural sisters, and growing out my beautiful natural hair. I am ready to get it back! Now I'll just take it one day at a time until I am celebrating a full year of growth, then two years, three...and on. :o) - Album was created 11 months ago and modified 11 months ago
