Well the build is now in the modeling history books and we all survived. 2 of the 5 cars got finished here in Morgantown. It looks like all the other groups and solp's did well also. The Michigan group finished all 5 of their kits. Good job guys. Did we have fun? You bet! Check out all the photos, thanks for tuning in, and we'll see you next year about this same time.

Well the 2nd annual 24 hour build is now history. We started on our models at 12:00 noon on Saturday and finish it at 12:00 noon on Sunday. The same North Central West Virginia Scale Modelers who did this last year, meet at my place to do this again this year. We also had 2 other members from the club meet at Bobbys house.
So the big question on everyone mind is "Did we finish?" The answer is no. George needed another hour to finish up, Chip about 2 and Jeff and myself about 3 with John needing more than 3. Why??? Well we all spent a lot of time perfecting body work and adding in extra non-kit supplied detail. The Builders and their cars:
Gary Kulchock ..... I built a Hasegawa Charge Mazda 767B.
Chip Wamsley ..... Built the Renault A210, 1966 Le Mans car, model by Heller.
John Brolin ..... Built a 1/24 Castrol Toyota Tom's Supra GT
Jeff Christopher ..... 2005 Ford GT
George Schmezer ..... Ford GT40 Mk II, 67 Daytona
The other at the home of Bobby Boggs, "The Mad Modeler" http://themadmodeller.proboards101.com/
Bobby Boggs ..... Toyota Castrol Celica GT-Four, '93 Monte Carlo Rally Winner
Brian Lucky ..... Tamiya Jaccs Accord
Plans are already set in motion for next years build. Interested???? this last year, meet at my place to do this again this year. We also had 2 other members from the club meet at Bobbys house.

What's a 24 hour build? Start on your model at 12:00 noon on Saturday and finish it at 12:00 noon on Sunday. Fun or crazyness, you decide.
Due to limited space, ony 5 modelers from the North Central West Virginia Scale Modelers will meet at one location to try this. My family room. Other clubs have done this in the past during the 24 Hours of Lemans, but we decided to do this during the winter months when tons of outside chores or other model contest or events won't get in the way.
The Builders and their cars:
Gary Kulchock ..... building a Tamiya Sauber-Mercedes C9 with a Studio 27 Photo-etch set, Scale Motorsports Composite Fiber Decals and Photo-etch sets.
Chip Wamsley ..... building a Revell Germany (Esci) BMW M1 with Race Works, BASF decals.
John Brolin ..... building a UT Models Porsche 911 GT1 EVO
Jeff Christopher ..... building a Revell 2005 Lemans Corvette C6-R
George Schmezer ..... building an Academy Ferrari 250LM
Every subject being from a different model Manufacturer and every subject representing a different Automotive manufacturer. How cool is that!
Rules: Start with a new Lemans subject kit. 4 parts may be glued to the body ahead of time to get a head start on the body painting process. That's it. The use of all after market materials are allowed.
So ....... watch this site starting Saturday Jan. 20, starting about 11:30 AM for pre-race photos. Photos will be added during the following 24+ hours to show the progress (or lack of progress) up untill the final results on Sunday.
Please send in your comments during the build, (or whenever) to show your support of the build. If this goes well, we may just promote this as a national event. Who's up for it?
