So we all got the same Fujimi S14 Silvia kit, and had to build it using only the kit contents with the exception of wheels, tires, rear spoiler and decals. So here's what I came up with. I have about 50 hours in this one, 35 of that in decals and paint. about 50 hours in this one, 35 of that in decals and paint. - photos: 57 (132 MB)

This was built in 1982 for a contest at a hobby shop called the Hobby Horse in Pittsburgh Pa. It won. After the contest, I wanted to redo the body with a better paint job. Well it never got finished. Each one of those tires are scratch-built, made before any monster truck kit ever existed. The motor is out of a P-51 aircraft. finished. Best Beater, Toledo NNL, 2007
It's 2 days before the Toledo NNL Nationals #28, and I just finished up this model for the "Beaters" catagory. Of course I spent way to much time on it ... as usual, about 200 hours over a 6 month + period. It turned out nice and gave me a chance to work on my weathering skills. Haven't done that since I finished the Hillbilly truck about 13 years ago. Well anyway, enjoy. about 200 hours over a 6 month + period. 3/22/07 It's finished! The day before I leave for the NNL. Why do I cut these things so close?
How this all started?: Chip had shown me a picture on the web of a modeler who converted an Enzo to a Lemans racer. Not a bad job, but I knew it could be built better. His body was nearly stock and the paint job was very simple, but it inspired me to build my own. Construction started in January of 2004, over 3 years ago.
I've always liked the paint scheme on the JMB Ferrari 360 Modena. How would this scheme look on an Enzo? I just had to find out.
I think Chip had planned on doing a car like this himself. My apologies for stealing your idea buddy. If and when I die (don't count on it, I have too many projects to complete), this one's all yours!
350 hours for this build over a period of 3+ years.
