This photo is taken at Kirkjuvæjarklaustur, South Iceland. This natural pawment of basalt is called Kirkjugólf (churchfloor). This is the top of a colomar basalt and looks like a churchfloor. This has a simular orgin to the Giant´s Causeway in Irland. I will edit out my foot. ;-)
If I left comments on the images in this album, then I'd be here all week! An absolutely astonishing album from begining to end. This image is interesting - classic columnar basalt but from a very different viewpoint. Edit out your foot, though! :-D
