When we were there they were filming the Amazing race 6.

This photo is taken at Kirkjuvæjarklaustur, South Iceland. This natural pawment of basalt is called Kirkjugólf (churchfloor). This is the top of a colomar basalt and looks like a churchfloor. This has a simular orgin to the Giant´s Causeway in Irland.

Wow! Looks like the hull of a wrecked ship! Fascinating rock formation and beautifully captured.

If I left comments on the images in this album, then I'd be here all week! An absolutely astonishing album from begining to end. This image is interesting - classic columnar basalt but from a very different viewpoint. Edit out your foot, though! :-D
