This photo is incredible!!! Tell me about it. What kind of camera and lens? Once again incredible composure!

I remember the first G.H.O. I ever touched. I was amazed at how little they weigh............mostly feathers. Dunno for sure, but it's body seemed to be no bigger around than my wrist.

Buteo platypterus. Never noticed the "washed out" appearance of the eyes before; they're usually yellow or dark. Is this typical of the species?

Caracara cheriway. We get the odd one up our way every decade or so. Even saw one in Green Bay.........if you can believe that; back in the 70s.

I dare anyone to look an eagle in the eyes and tell him he doesn't care what happens to him.

Haliaeetus leucocephalus. Nice.

BEAUtiful! Sharp.

Ah.......Pandion haliaetus. Very nice. Earlier this spring I noticed a pair of these circling over a small pond that had just been stocked with "catchable" sized trout for the local natives. I saw them take 4 in a matter of a few minutes so the local fishermen had to do with a few less fish.
