Look at the markings: this is not Gulastra.

I believe it's Bazleyd as a young horse.

Davenport bought *Nejdran "on the dock in New York" after he was brought here by a college student who'd bought the horse in England.

*Kismet was imported on lease by Huntington from his owner in UK, not from the desert. He did sire foals in England, including the colts *Nimr and *Garaveen which Huntington imported after their sire died.

Gulastra was one of the few US bred sons of Astraled imported by Brown from the Crabbet farm in England. Astraled spent most of his time improving the bloodlines of army remounts (mostly thoroughbreds). Gulastra was produced in Astraled's last crop of foals. He counts both as Egyption and as Crabbet (CMK) bloodlines. He was 30 when he died -- in 1954.

He's a 50% Davenport by the Egyptian *Fakher el Din and out of the Davenport mare Bint Alamein.

Amazing what I have found.The ancestors to a beautiful filly I purchased at an auction 12years ago.Her sire is *Cadence ,mare is Fourwinds Shandar. She looks alot like her daddy!
