Im looking for ANY information to help me get papers on my daughters mare. We had papers when we bought her, but they were lost in a move. She was born in April 87 or 88... Pretty sure 88. Her grandsire was Silver Vanity. Her papers were signed by Barbera Artess (shes deceased now) but never transferred. I have talked to Dr Artress but hes 93 and cannot remember who her sire and dam were. Her registered name is "Im A Doll" or "Ima Doll". Shes NOT purebred, shes registered with IAHA. Dr Artress says he had four mares that were 3/4 arabs that his wife loved and kept for breeding. AF Vanities Smoki, AF Vanities Copy, AF Vanities Doll, and AF Vanities Babe... one of these MIGHT have been her Mom. IAHA cannot find her in thier system.. who knows WHY they cant pull ALL horses registered to Artress farms born in 87 or 88... but they cant. Without knowing her Sire nor Dam name I have no hope of ever showing her. Shes a PHENOMINAL show mare! If you know of anyone who might have helpful info please point them my way! I remember photos of this stallion in the back of old issues of The Western Horseman Magazine "Catch Pen." These used mags had been passed along to me as a child and dated back to the late 50's maybe early 60's. It was this stallion's photo that brought me into the Arab world. Definitely one of the most photgenic arabs of the last century.
