I began an "Arabian Horse Directory" in response to several save-from-slaughter incidents in early 2000. The ability to access and share heritage information is frequently the determining factor in getting an Arabian Horse into the home where its bloodlines and place in history will be valued independently of concern for the individual animal. There are not enough rescue people to absorb all of our wonderful arabians who have found themselves in feedlots or at low-end auctions -- it has to be done by 'keepers of the breed' and new keepers of the breed need to be grown. If you own any of these pictures and want them removed or displayed in an alternate fashion, please contact me at:

hypoint@horses-etc.com. If you are an equine photographer of Arabian Horses and wish me to link to you or showcase you in ANY way, please let me know. You have been the chroniclers of the Arabian Horse. Thank you. -- Wendy

*Vallehermoso was born in 1978 and died in 1996.
A bay stallion, he was bred in Spain by Luis Ybarra Ybarra and imported to the USA in 1982 by BruMarBa Arabians. His last owner was Stephen Doran. He sired 185 registered purebreds in the USA.

My Arab colt's dam has Vallehermoso in her pedigree. I had logged into www.allbreedpedigree.com where I had registered the colt and once I added the dam and her sire the pedigree went way back. There is a photo of Vallehermoso in there. Fabulous animal.

I am trying to find the Spanish stallion, Vallehermoso. Is he still alive? If so, where is he? Please help. Thanks, Sabina

My Spanish Egyptian mare was sired by Vallehermoso. I tried to learn as much as possible about him and found that unfortunately there wasn't much available.

Turns out that he was imported by Brumarba Farms - a breeder close to my home!

You do not have photos of Vallehermoso on your Arabian
Horses - "V" index and I wondered if you would like one or two of what I have.
