My parents use to raise this bloodline of Arabs. They aquired two primary studs for their breeding program. Asil Zeus and Asil Legand. Their last mare was still very very high in Raffles blood.
I was so happy to see this pic of Legacys Karpege, as it's one I've not found before (think I've actually only seen 1 other?) My first mare was one of her 1/2 (ie, maternal) siblings...reminds me of very much, just paint her bay and she could've easily passed for my 'Kallie'!
I began riding horses one year ago and then moved to a new stable to increase my skills. I found leasing horse wasn't enough and found my "old" dream horse at Dream Horse.com. Her name is Blair and her registery looks like it came from Raffles, Azraff then Comar Bay Brummel but have not been able to find out anything more abou her parents, Axion and Brummels Charm. Am I dreaming? Is this horse really mine and as sweet and as she really is?? I'm a beginner and got this 19 year old from a young girl who had outgrown her and I am an adult 5 foot tall and wanted to mount from the ground to trail ride but this horse is beautiful!
THIS SITE IS VERY INFORMATIVE.. I HAVE A RAFFLES RELATIVE THAT I HAVE RESCUED...SHE IS WONDERFUL..HER NAME IS JUBBA GISELLE. DO YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION OR PICTURES RELATING TO JUBBA GISELLE(*RUMADII BY REMEMBERANCE)
I also have an Arab w/ Raffles in herlines...and yes he's a VERY famous sire, I don't know alot about him but I'm pretty sure he's crabbet. And he's known for Producing smaller sized Arabs I think.
I have an arab, with Raffles blood lines 3 times , twice on his mothers side and once on his fathers... is that good? was raffles a good famous horse or somthing?
There are some pink skinned arabians because of the sabino gene. They usually aren't entirely pink skinned with a white coat though, most have atleast a small patch of color with black skin, like on the tip of the ears [medicine hat].
I found Raffles in my horses pedigree 3 times on his sires side. Just looking up my precious boys ancestors. deDante, 134528 just celebrated his 27th birthday. He is going strong except for his teeth. He is now on pureed carrots! Bonnie
Thanks for all your fine efforts. I am researching my Arab mare, HL Positiw. Do you have any information or pictures relating to Leatez (Ferwiz by Raffaleeta)? I would also be interested in posting pictures of my mare. Any suggestions on how to do that?
My Arab gelding is a descendant of Raffles. I appreciate the wonderful photos of this fantastic stallion. It's fun to see what a beautiful relative my horse has. Thank you for providing the photos.
Amy, I do believe that, Raffles was later, either recognized, or had his reg. papers changed to show that he was, for the records, a Grey horse. No, he was not pink skinned. I do believe that there are no pink skinned, or albino Arabians... correct me if I'm wrong...
I'm suprized that we don't see more or hear more about some of these older horses. They are in so many of our current beautiful horses pedigrees. Even though some of their famous off spring our even gone now i.e. Dreamazon, Perlane etc. It seems like we should be more appreciative of the breeders who created these horses and the horses themselves.
My mom has always loved this stallion, of course she loves Raffles. Legacy Arabians owned by the De La Mater's was probably what I would consider the best Raffles breeding program. We always loved every photograph of every horse we had seen in the AHW issues. Thanks for putting this picture up. We still love all Raffles bred horses. Diane
