numerous unmarked graves. Surnames: Andress, Clapper, Hall, Warner, Lockard, Voshell. Anyone that can add burials please send an email. The pics in this visit are left in the order taken. In July 2007, the cemetery was walked to from Wadena, pans were taken from various sides of the cemetery, the pics were taken of each plot/grave area at both the east and west end of the cemetery as if one were walking back and forth, down each row looing at plots and markers. The cemetery was revisited in Aug 2007, to search for markers that had been thrown or washed into the Volga River; none were found. every three rows with west to east pictures taken every few plots, plus panorama's, thus numerous surnames are visible on the plot markers. Union Cem. contains many of the surnames that pioneered in the prairie farmland to the west of Brush Creek/Arlington and to the south of Fayette village as it became possible to break/plow the tall/wet grass prairie region in the 1860's. The series starts with a general overview of the cem and a burial listing. the marker survey starts in the NW corner of the cemetery as row 1 being on the west side. Photos were taken walking down the rows from N to S, then coming back to the next row, then coming back to the N end of the next row. Rows were surveyed from the W to the E side. The first photo in each row names as the starting photo. Many of the surnames in Plesant Grove are interrelated with those in the Echo Valley/Otter Creek/Brainard/Saltsgiver/Lutra pioneer neighborhoods, to include burials at the Mt. Pleasant and Lutra Cem's, plus the larger cem's in the bigger nearby villages of Elgin, West Union, Wadena, Lima, Fayette. iowaz@hotmail.com
