A series of marker photos from Grandview Cemetery, Fayette, Iowa, taken by Neil Hall, and supplied to me in late 2003 to utilize and share. Until now the series was not in alphabetical order, nor did ...more I have a functional photo site at that time. I have just recently renamed the pics and uploaded them in alpha order. Hovering the mouse over a thumb will disclose the surname of the marker. The south entrance was created in the 1950's running across a corn field into the south edge of the cemetery. This is the only remaining entrance of four.

The east entrance to Grandview was actually the third entrance. Is was created in the 1930 time frame, off 'College Hill' of Hwy 150. Today abandoned but marked by the 1939 gate. iowaz@swbell.net - photos: 18 (13 MB)

The Civil War Monument is on the east edge of the cemetery viewed as one came up from the 1930 entrance. The west end of the cemetery was the original entrance off the Lover's Lane or First Cut road. ...more The second entrance was about half way up college hill and now completely overgrown but still can be found. iowaz@swbell.net - photos: 18 (15 MB)

Section A of Grandview is the original burial ground of the cemetery with the first burial being Martha Alexander, teenage daughter of Robert and Jane Robertson Alexander. The 2005 section pics are ...more not an organized photo survey, but instead just panorama pics around/through each section. The picture file name may describe a group/area.
