1911 Colt 45 ACP's were first produced for military use in 1912, with production starting in 1914 for civilian models as with this specific gun being in the first civilian batch. This 1911 was accuraized in the 1970's in Hannibal, MO, for competition with new barrel, spring, fitting, clip well, sites, ambidextrous safety. The grips are original scrimshaw done by Larry Peck (now deceased) of Hannibal, MO, in 1981. Holster is original 1914 with the gun. Knife is a handmade fighting dagger done by Wayne Allen of Palmyra, MO, in 1981.
