road intersection and bridge at Walkerville, lying on the south side of the Salt River. A fairly large area was needed for a mill yard to handle storage for logs brought by oxen on skids, sleds, or just chained into the yard. Parking for wagons and cart with grain, pulled by oxen and teams was also needed. Most of the pics are taken from the road intersection on the south side of the bridge and include 360deg pans and zoooms. iowaz@swbell.net

Salt River. The Walkerville Mill was built and running by 1840, creating the Walkerville and Bacon Chapel neighborhood, which for the next several decades was operational and a significant pioneer 'industiral' area. iowaz@swbell.net
