10/02/2011 Fall in the Kolob Road High Country Southeast of Cedar City, Utah

I went for a drive to see the fall foliage colors but was a bit early for most of the lower elevation trees but finally encountered some really pretty colors the higher I went just before dropping into Cedar City. The public rock quarry shows pinnacles of harder rock developing as the remainder of the rock loosens and falls down as a talus slope to the quarry floor. The rock is soft and wouldn't be too useful except on roads used mostly during dry weather. The final photos were taken after arriving back home at sunset. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.
