12/14/2009 Snow on the Pine Valley Mountains from Hurricane, Utah
These are photos from our deck in Hurricane, Utah. As frequently happens after a snowfall on the Pine Valley Mountains the snow goes through a process of sublimation which means that the conditions are right for a solid, the ice crystals, to be converted directly into a gas, water vapor, without going through a liquid state. The results are spectacular vapor clouds covering portions of the mountain and contributing shadows also. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.
