Zion National Park, Utah!

Kolob Canyons Road Entrance
This road exits Interstate 15 between St. George and Cedar City. It is a short scenic drive which is ideal for the visitor who only has time to take a quick look at a very small but very beautiful part of Zion National Park.

Kolob Terrace Entrance
The Kolob Terrace section of Zion National Park is accessed by the Kolob Reservoir Road which turns off the Highway in the historical town of Virgin, Utah. It is a left turn from State Route 9 if you are heading toward the east.

State Route 9 Entrance
This is where most of the tourists go. Riding a shuttle bus is mandatory March 1 through October 31. Parking is available at the main Visitors' Center, the Natural History Museum and Zion Junction along State Route 9. Special permits are required to travel beyond the State Highway 9 corridor. Cars may be driven into the North Fork Virgin River Road in the off-season only. The shuttle bus system works very well but it does get crowded in the summer and on weekends. I have never had a problem with it. It stops at a number of places on the way up and back. You can expect another bus each 6-8 minutes going either way so delays are minimal. Some of the drivers narrate on the way, but others don't.
