12/17/2009 Kolob Canyons Area of Zion National Park, Utah

This area is closest to home so we decided to go see the snow there. The white with the red rocks and evergreen vegetation was spectacular to see. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.

    Jim,
    I loved your photographs. The richness in colours, exposures, textures and composition are exquisite. I am also an avid photographer & hiker, and enjoy viewing somebody else's work.

    Those scratches on the face must've taken place back a few million years ago. Interesting to note, can't see them at all until it snows or the sunlight hits them at the right angle. I like this one.

    =====================================================

    I think the seams in the formation are the result of weathering on the face of the cliffs as there was no glacial erosion here which would result in scratches on the cliff walls. Jim

    JIm, Very nice album. I asked for a snow report and got what's coming. Like I mentioned before, have any extra, send it on. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Keep in touch and thanks for the many invitations throughout the years.

    Cathedrals everywhere. I ask for snow and you get it and I don't. Have any left over, send some.

    Throw some green in and you got my attention. A real beauty.
